You wake up in a forest. Cold and alone, you slowly rise from the dirt ground and look around. It's dark outside and you can see your breath as it condensates in the frosty air. Your head hurts, you're very cold, and you just want your mommy. You look around and see two slightly parted passageways, one leading [[left]] and one leading [[right]]. You could [[look around]] and check your surroundings, or you could just continue on. After all, who knows what's lurking in these woods?

(else:) [You've got this!]You notice around where you woke up that you're in a clearing in the woods. You see a few objects on the ground near where you woke up, and you consider them equally.

The strange noises are becoming louder. You think you could probably grab one or two of the objects, but your worry becomes greater as each second passes.

[[Return ->look around]] You're kind of freezing and your pace has to increase in order to keep your body temperature high. You're not really paying attention to your surroundings because daaamn. It's cold.

[[Continue on]]Your hands are cold and you shove them into your pockets, trudging on through the dark and scary forest. There's some chirpings of crickets and you think, maybe, you hear the croaking of frogs. Could it be? Is there a creek around you?
You could [[follow the sounds of the croaking]], or you could [[continue going forward]].You come across a beautiful lake. The croaking is getting louder, but you are so mesmerized by the full moon and the glittery water that you don't seem to care.
Something in you compels you to get into the lake. Do you?

Suddenly, as a sudden gust of wind rustles the leaves and trees around you, you fall forward. You are dead.]Soon you come across a creek in the middle of the forest. You're thirsty and you're dehydrated, and you think you remember that one time in Mrs. Akers' eighth period health class in 7th grade that the best cure-all for headaches was water. And, like, sure. This headache is definitely caused by the head trauma you went through to get... here in these woods, but uh. Like, come on. As if you're not gonna drink this water.

[[Keep it moving]][[continue to move]] You come across a split path again. This time, you can go [[straight->continue to move]] as you have been going, or you can take a chance and go down the smaller, narrower [[path]].

If you don't find water soon, you'll never make it out of here. Your brain is spinning as the sudden realization that you could really, really die sets in. Should you [[go left]]? [[Or right]]? Or, or, or??? [[keep going straight]]?? Oh, wow! You've come across some running water! Now might be a good time to grab a drink, don't you think?

[[So you keep walking,]]You remove your jacket, t-shirt, and shorts as you get into the water. And brrrr! Is it cold! You start to scrub the dirt off your arms and legs when you hear the croaking is getting louder and louder. When you turn around, though, you notice a giant green sea-monster emerging from the water and boy! It looks hungry.
(if: $bat > 0) [You quickly go to shore and grab your bat to put up a fight! It's heavy though, and you realize once you hold it up it will actually weigh you down. You don't have time to react, though. The bat causes you to sink into the water, effectively drowning you. Fate isn't that kind, though, because the sea-monster grabs you by the legs and pulls you away. You have died.]
(else:) [You look around for weapons, but alas! You did not pick the bat up! With nothing to defend yourself with, you realize your fate. You close your eyes and wait for the sea-monster to murder you or whatever. You have died.]You decide not to get into the lake. It's probably for the best, too. The croaking is getting louder and louder and the water looked cold. You hastily decide to return.
[[Return->Continue on]] [[and walking,]][[aaand walking.]]And. Huh. The sun is starting to rise and it's getting lighter out, but you're still in the middle of the woods and there's no end in sight. Also, you know you had water, like, only a few hours ago. But you're tired and you're cold and, oh golly, oh gee. You're dehydrated. Like, pass out dehydrated.

That stream from earlier is continued this way! You might as well stop for a fill up!

You have died.You walk for what feels like hours. Hey! It's day now!! But, oh, no! Your head hurts and your feet hurt and you're exhausted. Defintely gonna pass out. Oh, no. Oh, no!! You sink to your knees unable to stand anymore. Your eyes are heavy and you can feel your heart thumping in your chest. This is it. You're going to die here.
You have died.I mean. Water's water, right? Might as well drink up. And you can see clearly now! You've made it through the night!!

(else:) [You can see what's coming. You didn't take the canteen and now you're out of water. You can't drink the water from the stream because it is definitely not filtered and you really can't afford to drink contaminated water. And, hey! You're lost. So as the dehydration sets in you feel the pounding of your head and you know. This is the end. Your vision gets fuzzy and you sink to the ground. You have died.]The trees are thinning and you think you're almost done! Keep moving on, bud, [[you've got this]].Oh, hey. It's morning. Now might be a good time to stop and catch a breather.
You notice the trees are beginning to thin, and you think you're probably nearing the edge of the forest. Oh, gee, you hope so! This nightmare of a hike has GOT to be over soon.
There are two more paths you find. Should you [[keep going the way you have been]] or [[venture off]]Hey! You're almost out of here!!! Keep moving dude, [[you've got this]].Oh, wow. It's... it's an abandoned building in the middle of this creepy forest. Heck to the no! You've seen enough horror movies to know there's a chainsaw freak waiting to murder you in there. You should [[turn back->walk some more]]
...[[unless]]...Hey, this isn't so bad! You find a book of matches and a lamp and you light it UP. It's time to explore babeyyy. You just keep walking down the [[hallways]].Exploring and [[exploring]].Oh. Well. It wasn't a chainsaw freak after all. It was a creaky old floorboard that caused you to fall to your death, three stories down. That's just comedy right there.
You have died.Hey! It's a road!! Hey!!! It's your freedom! Just stick y'er thumb out and hope a friendly stranger will pick you up and drop you off somewhere in town. Just in time, too. It's started to rain!
